A votre sante!

I went on another journey this weekend. This time it was decided to take a road trip from London to Paris. Basically, we drove to the coast of the UK to a town called Folkestone where we boarded "The Chunnel". The Chunnel runs beneath the English Channel and connects the UK to France. It has the longest undersea portion of any tunnel in the world. You simply drive onto the Chunnel, throw your car in park, and then its smooth sailing as you get transported through to France. Once arriving in Calais, France, it was a 3-hour enjoyable drive to Paris through the countryside.

This was my first time in Paris and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There is much to be seen here and plenty of history. Below are a few of the sites that I checked out (pics included)..

Notre Dame

Dome Des Invalides

Arch of Triumph

Church of the Sacred Heart..(shout out to MSC and the Bros of the Sacred Heart!) The inside of this church was amazing and I can't really explain the feeling I felt once stepping inside.

and of course the infamous Eiffel Tower

..and a shot from on top

But in my opinion, the most impressive site in Paris was The Louvre. The Louvre is an absolutely enormous museum which houses some of the most famous artwork and sculpures from all over the world by some of the greatest artists that ever existed. I believe over 35,000 pieces of art are contained within The Louve.

So, there will be no street art in this post but a few slightly more remarkable shots taken from inside The Louvre..

Antonio Canova's Psyche and Cupid

The most famous greek sculpute...Venus de Milo

Michelangelo's "the dying Slave"

The Crown of Louis XV

And the most famous painting on the planet..

Leonardo D'Vinci - Mona Lisa

The Louvre
