Keepin' it Gangsta with Z-trip!

Well first of all, I've been working entirely too much! I moved to London on May 27th and have been averaging 12 hour work days and haven't had a proper day off since I've been here! I'm exhausted! Hopefully soon the madness will die down and I'll be able to get out a bit more. Stay tuned...

Well I did manage to rush out of work last night and caught the end of Z-trip's set at the Cargo. I chilled with him for a bit after the show. I must say Z is one chill, down to earth, modest, cool, musically knowledgable dude.

Z-trip and UNCLE SIMA keepin' it Gangsta in this self photo flick!!

Wish I caught more of his set but he did say he'll be back soon.

For those unfamiliar with Z-trip, he is the originator of the concept of mixing Rock and Hip-Hop music together to form a unique composition performed solely by vinyl and two turntables. The blending of these 2 genres eventually became known as the "mash up" by the mainstream.

I will punch you in the babymaker if I hear you use the term "MASH-UP"!

Check it out for yourself...

Anyhow, the show was on the East Side of London on Old Street. Old Street is a artsy area of town with many galleries, coffee shops, pubs, and freaks. It's fantastic!

On my stumble home I ran into this Jef Aerosol street piece!

Jef (known for his signature red arrows) is an up and coming artist who has been making waves lately and his gallery work has defintely been going up in value.

I also stumbled upon another famous piece by the artist Blam!

It still trips me out to see this artwork live on the street after seeing these images online, in magazines, and books for so long!

Coming soon..I did see a huge Shepard Fairey wall mural last night in the atrium of the Black Rep Press Gallery but there was a fence bolted shut blocking me out so I couldn't get close enough for pics..................YET!
