FeedYourWall and Timeout London!

Timeout London is a hugely popular magazine amongst locals and tourists alike that is sold in and around London. Timeout serves as a critical guide to the arts, culture, and happenings in UK's capital. It is also a magazine that I practically lived by during my one year stint in the UK. I bought it every month, kept it in my backpack, and trusted it's recommendations.

Well, recently Timeout London did a piece on UK's street art with a focus on UK's own Banksy. Well I found it pretty ironic that this magazine that I was so heavily devoted to actually mentioned my blog, www.feedyourwall.com, as one of their "favourite UK street art blogs"
Go see for yourself!

Who would've thought that this little art blog hobby that Rado and I have been working on would be recognized by such a highly publicized magazine outside of the US!???

There are tons of blogs out there in internet-land so needless to say..I was pretty shocked, stoked, and honored!

Time-Out contacted FeedYourWall and just recently sent me a free copy of this SOLD OUT edition if TIMEOUT!!

Cheer mates!!

Shepard Fairey - May Day and a bunch more...

During my recent street art scavenger hunt through NYC, I also managed to head to Deitch Projects for Shepard Fairey's "May Day" exhibit.

Snaps for your viewing pleasure...

While strolling from gallery to gallery, I noticed some street art where it's best suited...on the street

Banksy. Which unfortunately was destroyed by a bunch of wannabees

Mr. Brainwash

Shepard Fairey

Lucy McLauchlan

Last but not least and since the fever is spreading rapidly. I came across some pretty awesome World Cup 2010 art in Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side that I thought I'd share...

Mr. Brainwash - The Remix - NYC

I stumbled down to the Meat Packing district in NYC to check out Mr. Brainwash's latest "The Remix". With all the hype surrounding MBW lately, I felt compelled to check this out. It was actually quite enjoyable. Giant Props, Huge Pieces, Good music...etc! There are many conspiracy theories as to what is really going on behind the scenes of "Mr Brainwash" Does he exist? was he made up? is he really Bansky? While people toss out their theories I'll sit back and enjoy the art...from whoever is really making it??

Pics from the jump..

Make sure to check out the film "Exit from the Gift Shop" if you haven't already which dives into the supposed world of Mr. Brainwash.

Charming Baker - Stupid has a new hero

I caught London based artist Charming Baker's latest show "Stupid has a new hero" at the New York Studio Gallery today.

Charming likes to describe his art as somewhat "unnerving". He continues, "“I like to take people along a path which leads to a place they don’t expect to be. They might discover a personal or political subtext, they might simply enjoy the view. The effect I’m aiming for in my work is that slightly unnerving feeling you get when you have your arse patted in public, but you're not exactly sure who's patting it.”

It's definitely worthwhile to check this show out in person..

A few pics....

Who's this guy??
