Kiss me deadly!!!!

I saw Billy Idol on Thursday at Brixton Academy in South London.

After all these years Billy Idol still rocks! I can't post this without mentioning Steve Stephens on guitar!

Another low quality video..

You can't forget Idol's punk rock roots and please don't underestimate the influence Billy Idol provided to punk rock in general with his band Generation X..

One of my personal favorites..

"Kiss me deadly"

The writing on the wall..

Well, I thought I'd post a few random flicks of some artists that I've stumbled across during my many walks throughout London.

I'll start with another one of my favorites, Jose Parla, which I just happened to notice as I peaked through the window of an office building in Brick Lane. I had to run in to take a pic.
It was huge!

I'll include a video for further appreciation.

I'm looking forward to catching Parla's big show coming to London in October at Elms Lesters painting room. The price tag is the only things that keeps me away from his work.

OK here are a few others...

Mear One

Logon Hicks

Invader

D*face

Shepard Fairey

Dibo

Andy Uprock - who creates all of his work by sticking cups in fences.

Check it out. Definitly a first of its kind.

Stolen Space!

I finally made it to the Stolenspace gallery in the fashionable area of Brick Lane which I've been meaning to hit up since I've moved to London.

There was a small exhibit going on called "Under a Red Sky" featuring..

Word to Mother (yes, that's what he calls himself)

Andrew McAttee

Vitche

and even some Shepard Fairey.

After the show I headed over to catch the highly lyrical and skilled Lyrics Born at this very small but intimate show at Dingwalls in Camden.

..and I'll even include some more poor quality video footage!

I can't believe..Today was a good day!

I finally saw the man, the myth, the rapper, the actor, the devil sh*tpacker, and hands down my favorite rapper from 1989-1992, the legend, the one, the only....Ice MoFo Cube!

This was a very special night for me indeed!

I have never seen Ice Cube live before and this night brought me back in the day! I lost my voice as I screamed the lyrics of every song back at him. I think I know the old school verses better than he does!

I caught him at the Electric Ballroom in Camden Town and the place went off!

I'll include a very poor quality video but just a small sample of how the show went down!

IF you do not have these 2 albums below then Uncle Sim is not your boy! Bring these back!

It's just a lazy afternoon..

Ok well I finally made it back to Old Town to "Cargo" to take some snaps of Shepard Fairey's wall mural. This is the first I've seen his work at this size and magnitude.

All artwork aside, Cargo is probably my most favorite bar/restaurant/club/gallery that I've been to in London. It's relatively small and low key and is always hosting great live music/DJ's from all over the world. It's where I caught Z-trip and just recently stumbled upon this amazing 13-piece Columbian Salsa Band called "LA-33".

Well that's all for now.

Next Stop..Amsterdam this weeekend and Prague the next!

Stay tuned and Cheers!

PS. Feel free to leave me some love in the comments section following these posts as it would be great to hear from you all!

Viva Espana!

I apologize for the lack of posts lately but it's been pretty hectic with only 4 days left until go-live. Almost there!!

Regardless! Here we go!

Congrats to Spain on a well played Euro 2008!

Despite the fact they defeated the poorly coached Italians I won't be a sore loser and I feel obligated to give them out big shout out as they managed to pull off a big win over Germany in the final to give them their second ever Euro Cup title.

I'm a big fan of Casillas as he proved to be the best goalie in the world at the moment.
